I leave in South Africa. This is a place littered with unemployment and poverty. What surprises me is that people from the rest of Africa, come here with nothing. They set up stalls selling sweets, mending shoes, repairing clothes, and also set up shops in villages. You can not believe that these people who yesterday had completely nothing end up with untold wealth.
There is one person in particular that has amazed. I have witnessed his success from close quarters. Two years ago he started selling sweets on the side of the road. Two years down the line, he has bought himself a van. The rest of the people are busy crying instead of doing something and lifting themselves out of poverty. Crying and saying how poor you are makes you actually poorer. It makes you believe in pre-destiny and your wish is granted.
There is another friend from Ethiopia. I did not witness his success first hand being created but his very successful. He told me that it took him seven months to get to South Africa from Ethiopia. He had no money at all when started the journey. He got help from people and doing manual jobs a long the way. He could not even speak English a language spoken widely on his route down to South Africa.
When he got to South Africa, there was no chance for a job. He could not speak English and therefore could not communicate. Some one in the Ethiopian community set him up with a small loan. He is extremely rich today.
It is all in your mind. You attract what you think.
